Tools for Promoting Inclusive and Resilient Economic Development

In this publication, we explore various approaches to promoting Local Economic Development (LED), drawing on the experiences of VNG International and its partners in implementing the ASPIRE project in Somaliland, along with insights from other organizations in the field. This resource aims to assist districts striving for economic growth by providing diverse strategies for applying the Territorial Approach to Local Development (TALD). Recognizing that local development requires collaboration with the private sector, civil society, and government agencies, we emphasize the importance of community inclusion, especially for vulnerable groups. The publication begins with an introduction to TALD and LED, followed by practical tools for developing and implementing economic strategies tailored to individual district needs. While not every tool may suit every district, we hope this collection inspires innovative solutions for fostering sustainable local development.
